Even though it’s just a friendly, this win is a big deal. Wish the World Cup started tomorrow.
Deuce’s goal, just because you know you want to watch it again.
He’s the ex-boyfriend her album is about.
From January 29th through May 2nd of 2010, Quintron punched a time clock and reported to work at NOMA to write and record a new album (entitled “SUCRE DU SAUVAGE”) in a public gallery space. The official title of the entire exhibit, which also included a Drum Buddy retrospective and an enormous Miss Pussycat puppet display, was “Parallel Universe – Quintron and Miss Pussycat Live In City Park.” Quintron’s intent behind the museum recording studio was not to entertain visiting museum goers with any kind of performance, but to completely ignore them and go about the business of making this record.
SUCRE DU SAUVAGE available on Goner Records.
Forever ago I was gonna post a list on here or something. It was supposed to be before I left New Orleans. So I’ll try and do that now.
Life is good and comfortable in Bowling Green. But I don’t know, I miss New Orleans a lot. This is what I miss.
-Big Shot Soda
-“How ya doing?”
-Mojo Coffee House
-The Mississippi River
-Being able to jump green lights
-Not only seeing white people
-I even miss hot weather
-Driving past the Super Dome every day
-The church I went to, Harbor
-New Orleans slang and different accents
-Crystal on every table
-St. Charles Ave
I love Kentucky. Its my home. But I couldn’t make a list this long about it and things I missed about it this summer.
I might continue this blog in a different format. I don’t know. So if I don’t, then thank you for reading and God bless ya.
So I can’t sleep and I’ve realized that I haven’t updated this blog in a good while. This summer has been an amazing experience and God has taught me a lot. This upcoming week is the last week of volunteers and I get back to home on August the 14th. Its bittersweet. I can’t wait to get back home to my family and friends in Louisville, and then I can’t wait to get back to even more friends in Bowling Green. Its going to be so much fun having a house with some good friends and to live on a street with people and try and build some community. One of my best friends, Sean Dunbar, is here this week so that makes it a little more fun.
Here’s a list of some things I’ve done since I last wrote:
-Discovered an awesome coffee shop on Magazine Street called Mojo Coffee House.
-Discovered an awesome record store called Domino Sound.
-Jackhammered an entire home foundation’s worth of concrete.
-Went to the Candlelite Lounge and saw the Treme Brass Band play.
-Went to Saints training camp.
-Visited City Park.
Later this week I’ll post a list of closing thoughts and things I’m gonna miss cause I’m truly gonna know what it means to miss New Orleans.
God bless everybody and I’ll see ya soon.
